I remember sharing a post on these things being unveiled over the summer last year in late June and writing something along the lines of:
Wouldn't it be convenient to use these for let's say... forest fires and then advocate for climate change? Just a thought.
The militarization of robot dogs is on the rise. Even more disturbing is that some of these robots are receiving OpenAIβs ChatGPT upgrades that make them even more intelligent. The βSkynet momentβ is upon us. The Black Mirror 'Metalhead' episode also comes to mind, check out clip HERE.
NYPD also have robodogs. In 2016, Dallas Police strapped plastic explosives to a bomb-disposal bot to kill a sniper who had murdered five officers. In 2022, San Francisco Police was seeking permission to deploy lethal robots against human suspects. China has armored robodogs, France has robodogs that collect both visual and thermal data, and Australia's army is exploring the use of soldier's brain signals to control robodogs and other autonomous systems.
