Matt and Addison talk about the Game of Thrones picture that the White House tweeted, and then discuss the 7.2 million viewership on the past episode of Game of Thrones. Then they talk about ratings for all TV shows being aired live, vs. on demand viewings. They teardown the Ricky Gervais Netflix series Derek as well as discuss Gervais’ work with Stephen Merchant, and how TV reviewers approach television and what makes good TV vs. bad TV. They wrap up with a brief conversation about House of Cards creator Beau Willimon’s comments about viewer numbers, a discussion on FX’s Louie, and bring up a recurring segment with a slight twist “Why Game of Thrones Sucks.”

TV Teardown #4: Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Walking Dead

Matt and Addison talk about Game of Thrones. (Addison let’s Matt talk about Game of Thrones) The guys briefly talk about the office, HBO’s new show “Silicon Valley”, Mad Men, and a new round of “why The Walking Dead sucks.” They discuss Sherlock (BBC), The Office, Doctor Who, and the Netflix series Derek. Matt also tears down “Turn” the new AMC show about America’s first spy ring during the Revolutionary War era. The guys also take some time to talk about Stephen Colbert getting the Late Show next year with David Letterman’s retirement. Lastly they talk about an alternate universe full of Frank Underwoods.
